The University of Tlemcen (Abou Bekr Belkaid University) is pleased to announce the organization of the international conference: “The European Union, Algeria and Demographic Transition in Africa : Social Implications and Economic Perspectives”
Le 10 et 11 juin 2026 at Abou Bekr Belkaid University of Tlemcen – Algeria.This high-level scientific event is organized within the framework of the Jean Monnet AfriquEurope Network of Excellence, funded by the European Union, of which the University of Tlemcen is a partner.
The conference will bring together academics and experts from Africa and Europe to discuss major challenges related to demographic transition, youth, migration, population ageing, the demographic dividend, and the prospects for sustainable economic and social development.
Through keynote lectures, international panels, and thematic sessions, this scientific event will contribute to strengthening academic dialogue and cooperation between Africa and Europe on strategic issues shaping the future of both continents.
