The Laboratory of Phenomenology and its Applications organized this Monday, May 22, 2023, an international symposium on "Arab Phenomenology."
This phenomenogy is the study of the structures of consciousness and experience, a philosophy that wants to radically distinguish itself from all psychology in that it is not interested in the experiences themselves as they exist concretely, as a psychologist can do, but in the essences that distinguish and find these experiences. To differentiate the point of view proper to phenomenological philosophy from that of psychology, which studies the phenomenology of experience, for the latter, psychophenomenology Psychophenomenology is a discipline of psychology that studies subjective experience as it is actually lived.
This meeting aims to exchange knowledge and modern research in the field of phenomenology, highlighting its applications and importance in the Arab context. Themes such as Arab consciousness, culture, art, language, philosophical speculation, and the social and cultural environmental influence on consciousness and personal experience were also discussed.
