The University of Tlemcen held a ceremony to mark the 61st anniversary of Independence and Youth Day on July 5, which focused on the theme "Algeria of victories, rewards, and achievements".

This is an opportunity that calls us, in this specific context, to be more vigilant and to do more to meet the challenge of the transition to new ways of thinking, planning, and managing. The celebration of the 61st anniversary of Victory Day in this symbolic place comes at a time when Algeria is experiencing a social explosion. Economic and cultural demands demand the participation of everyone in the battle of building that must keep pace with all modern scientific and technological advances capable of achieving the prosperity to which all Algerians aspire. A rich and varied program was organized to immortalize the greatness of our glorious revolution. This program included raising the flag and reading the Fatiha of the Holy Quran, and the setting up of a historical exhibition of the regional museum of the mujahid that presents the sacrifices and victories of our shuhada.
During the speech on this occasion, the rector of the university, Prof. Meghachou Mourad, said that a glorious day would crown an epic eternally anchored in the history of the struggle of peoples for freedom and independence. On this sacred day, we bow with respect and deference to the memory of our brave Shuhada, whose immeasurable sacrifices in the face of abhorrent colonialism have raised the banner of independence and freedom.

At the end of this ceremony, some mujahideen and teacher Belardj Abderrahmane, teachers promoted to the rank of professor, and sports teams were honored.
