Yennayer 2974, the first day of the year Amazigh, is celebrated throughout the four corners of the country in order to revive an ancient tradition that makes up a part of the cultural heritage. The University of Tlemcen hosted, on Thursday, January 11, 2024, a variety of activities as part of a rich program established on this occasion. These festivities reinforce the diversity of our country’s cultural and historical heritage.
This ceremony, organized at May 19 room - the Imama Pole-, was inaugurated by the rector of the university, Pr. Mohamed Mourad, in the presence of vice-rectors, deans of faculties, teachers, representatives of social partners, and students.
Alongside this, students from the University of Tlemcen and the association Basma and Culture of Chatouane organized exhibitions on the Amazigh cultural inheritance.
