As part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the University of Abou Bakr Belkaid Tlemcen, the Faculty of Letters organized a significant cultural event centered around the documentary film Caledon, the Memory of Eternal Exile, which honors the exiled souls and uncovers forgotten truths. The film, which goes beyond traditional historical narratives, uses cinema as an educational tool to expose the sufferings of the exiled through vivid testimonies and rare archives.

Director Saïd Aoulmi played a central role in transforming the film into a platform for expressing historical silence, while Dr. Sara Qassim discussed the importance of the documentary film as an educational tool that combines academic research with cinematic creativity. Through Caledon, the wall of silence surrounding the experiences of the exiled was broken, offering a model of documentary storytelling that restores dignity to forgotten voices.
