The Research Team on Legal and Judicial Security, under the presidency of Pr. Bessaïd Mourad from the Laboratory of Strategic Studies and Political Research, organized a national conference on Monday, February 10, 2025, titled "Development of the Maritime Transport Sector in Algeria: Between Economic Reforms and the Need to Modernize the Legal System."

The conference was inaugurated by the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science, Prof. Nassereddine Bentyfor, the Director of the Laboratory of Strategic Studies and Political Research, Pr. Ayad Mohamed Samir, and the Vice-Dean, Dr. Ouhib Fethi.

The conference proceedings featured two in-person sessions and five (5) virtual sessions, during which 52 scientific presentations were delivered by professors and experts from 16 national universities. All participants emphasized the importance of the maritime transport sector in driving economic development. Furthermore, the relationships between Algeria’s public policy, economic reforms, and the maritime transport sector were explored, with the goal of serving the state and enhancing the quality of life for citizens.
