Due to its size and location, Algeria is exceptionally rich in renewable natural resources, including forest resources of both plant and animal origin that are of significant commercial and socioeconomic relevance, and in light of the importance of this subject. a study day on "the promotion of the forest economy" was held at the level of the faculty of natural and life sciences, earth and universe sciences.
The meeting was presided over by Pr. BOUHRAOUA Rachid and a group of teachers and experts participated in this meeting, including the director of the Tlemcen Wilaya National Park M.MOUMNI Mohammed , the representatives of the National Institute for Forestry Research M.BOUTKHIL Morsli ,

- Forest products other than timber that are derived from plants, such as , medicinal and aromatic plants
- Animal-derived non-timber forest products Cynegetics, forest beekeeping, and sylvo-pastoralism
