On February 21 and 22, at the Andalusian Studies Center in Tlemcen, the High Commission for Amazighity (HCA), in partnership with the Directorate of Culture and the Arts, organized the commemoration of International Mother Language Day and African Language Week.

This ceremony was attended by Pr. GHOUALI Noureddine, adviser in charge of national education and teaching affairs, M. hachemi Assad, the secretary general of (HCA), and the delegation accompanying him, Mr. MERMOURI Amoumene, the wali of the wilaya of Tlemcen, who was accompanied by the president of the APW and the security and local authorities of the wilaya, and the national delegate for the protection and promotion of childhood M.CHORFI Meriem, Pr. Meghachou Mourad,Rector of the university of Tlemven , the vice rectors of the university, as well as the members of civil society and the high council of youth, teachers, specialists from various universities in the country and the family of the press and African students .

At the Abdelkarim Dali House of Culture in Mansourah, Mr. Si Hachemi Assad, the Secretary General of the (HCA) and the delegation he was accompanied inaugurated exhibitions devoted to the work of cultural and scientific associations, the presentation of the book and audiovisual fair, a workshop on writing and translation into the Amazigh language in front of authors, translators, and representatives from publishing houses, in addition to setting up tourist visits in the area. The program created to coincide with the joint celebration of African Language Week and International Mother Language Day provided a chance to honor Mustapha Lahbiri, a former director general of civil protection.

The secretary general of (HCA) Mr. Si hashemi Assad, supervised and the delegation he was accompanied as well as the president of the APW cultural activities at the Daïra of Bnisnous:

-Projection of a documentary video on the celebration of International Mother Language Day and African Week.

-Animation of a scientific colloquium  on the importance of celebrating International Mother Language Day and African Language Week, in collaboration with the African Language Academy.

-The installation of artistic and cinematographic workshops at the level of the CEM "GADIRI" of the commune of - BENI SNOUS-.

The secretary general of (HCA) Mr. Si hashemi Assad, then paid a visit to the Lazaile commune, where he supervised the inauguration of a workshop in collaboration with the Algerian center for cultural heritage built with a mud (wilaya of Timimoune) for the benefit of trainees from the training center and associations interested in the restoration of the old palace of Ouled Messouad in Tafesra.
