With a spirit of faith filled with a perfume of belief and angelic voices reciting Quranic verses. The curtain dropped on the 8th national competition of Tadjwid and recitation of the Koran, this Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Dali Abdelkarim Palace of Culture in Tlemcen.
This version of the competition carries spiritual significance in honor of the late Chikh Brabah Naîm, who dedicated his life to learning and teaching the Koran. It was a lit candle illuminating Tlemcen’s path during his work as a khatib imam and Sharia teacher. The event took place on Tuesday, April 23, organized by the University of Tlemcen and the University of Tlemcen Mansourah. This initiative was also marked by the participation of various Algerian universities. At the end of this competition, the winners were honored to be encouraged to continue memorizing and Tadjwiding the Quran. Yasser Abdel Rahman Amour of Saida University won first place in the men’s category, while Batoul Annad of Mohamed Lamine Debaghine University of Setif won first place in the women’s category. The two winners received an Omra in recognition of their exceptional efforts. A big thank you and gratitude to the organizers of this precious contest, to the participating universities, and to the competitors who have demonstrated high-level skills in reciting and tadjwid the Quran. We hope that Allah, unique and almighty, will bless us to memorize and recite the Holy Quran with understanding and contemplation, so that it may become a light illuminating our way in this worldly life.
