On May 6, 2024, the University of Tlemcen hosted the activities of the first national symposium on the education and training of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to acquire linguistic communication skills in light of modern teaching techniques. Chaired by Dr. DJIDAINE Samira, and in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Languages, Professor HADJOUI Ghouti.
This symposium, organized by the Laboratory of Analytical and Statistical Studies in Humanities and the completion of a unified glossary on scientific measures of the Faculty of Arts and Languages in collaboration with the head of the research team of the PRFU project, project code: LO0L01UN130120220002, teacher BELGACEM Imane Fatima Zohra, and in coordination with the Al-Nour Association and the Amal Association for Autism, aims to highlight the role of modern educational technologies in developing various skills, particularly linguistic skills, in autistic children. It also aims to propose recommendations to improve the use of these technologies according to the needs and capacities of autistic children, especially in the field of linguistic communication.
The activities of the symposium addressed four main axes, including:
- Key electronic tools and applications for memorizing and teaching the Holy Quran to autistic children.
- Major programs specialized in teaching linguistic communication to autistic children.
- The effectiveness of electronic devices in stimulating and motivating learning in autistic children.
- The use of modern technologies in workshops dedicated to teaching autistic children (theater, drawing, music, expressive dance, sculpture).
