On Monday, July 1st, 2024, the University of Tlemcen welcomed Mr. Mohamed El-Tahar Abadlia, President of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Research (CNRST), accompanied by Mr. Salami Mokhtar, Director of Studies.

The guests were warmly received by the university's rector, Pr. Meghachou Mourad, vice-rectors, as well as Pr. Tarek Saidi, Director of the School of Business, and Prof. Abdelatif ZERGA, Director of the African Institute for Water and Energy Sciences (including Climate Change) (PAUWES).

The visit began with an important conference at the auditorium of the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences and Earth and Universe Sciences, attended by deans of faculties and numerous faculty members.

During this conference, Pr. ABADILIA and Prof. SALAMI Mokhtar delivered a valuable presentation focusing on strategies for developing scientific research and promoting innovation in Algerian universities. They emphasized the crucial role of CNRST in supporting public policies for scientific research, technological development, and innovation. The speakers underscored the CNRST's significance as a constitutional advisory body under the authority of the President of the Republic. An open discussion session followed the conference to address participants' questions.

During his visit to the University of Tlemcen, the CNRST President also visited the i2E student center, where visitors learned about its role in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation among students.

This visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between academic institutions and national bodies involved in scientific research, aiming to advance scientific and technological development in Algeria.
