A Memorable Day Celebrating Africa

Hiroshima University was the venue for a memorable day celebrating Africa, highlighting the importance of academic exchanges between continents. This significant event brought together leading academic figures, including the Rector of the Pan African University, Prof. Jean Koulidiati, and Prof. Zerga Abdellatif, along with directors of Pan-African institutes from Kenya, Nigeria, and Cameroon.

The University of Tlemcen, host of PAUWES, was represented by its rector, Prof. Mourad Meghachou. At the heart of this event, it was presented as a model of academic excellence and international influence, reflecting its key role in global academic cooperation.

The fruitful exchanges between the institutions led to historic moments. The Rector of Hiroshima University, Prof. Ochi Mitsuo, the Rector of the Pan African University, Prof. Jean Koulidiati, and Prof. Mourad Meghachou jointly signed a peace declaration, symbolizing their shared commitment to working towards a more just and peaceful world.

Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Hiroshima University and the Pan African University, paving the way for close collaboration in strategic areas such as research, student mobility, and the development of joint academic programs.

This day also emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Africa and Japan, two regions united by common values and a shared ambition to build a better future. The partnerships established during this event mark a significant milestone in academic cooperation and reinforce Hiroshima University's status as a center of excellence and international influence.
