National Conference on the History of Algerian Art and Highlighting the Career of Artist Bachir Yelles Chaouche

The Faculty of Letters and Languages, in coordination with the Department of Arts and the Laboratory of Arts and Cultural Studies, organized a national conference on Monday morning, December 16, 2024, at the Faculty of Letters Auditorium. The conference was titled "The Great Names of Algerian Art, Ancient and Modern" and also served as a tribute to the late artist Bachir Yelles Chaouch.

This conference is part of the activities organized by the faculty within the framework of the general program of the University of Tlemcen, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Abou Bekr Belkaid University. The organizers aimed through this event to highlight the prominent figures in Algerian art and introduce participants to artistic works created in various artistic fields. Additionally, it was an opportunity to showcase the Department of Arts and its achievements since its establishment. It also represented an important step in the valorization of Algerian artistic heritage and in highlighting the creators who have marked the local and national artistic scene.

The event focused on several key areas, addressing the great names of Algerian art, both ancient and modern. It presented various types of arts and their fields, dedicating significant attention to showcasing Algerian artists and their creations, with a particular emphasis on the career of artist Bachir Yelles Chaouch and his valuable contributions to the field of visual arts
