Prof. Ali Hamza Cherif, Vice-Rector of the University of Tlemcen in charge of external relations and representative of the University of Tlemcen, participated in the second meeting of UNESCO Chairs in the Maghreb, held on February 18 and 19, 2025, in Tunis.
UNESCO Chairs represent a key pillar in supporting scientific research, innovation, and academic cooperation through initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The University of Tlemcen has been awarded the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development and Resilience, which focuses on challenges related to climate change, water security, food sustainability, and energy resilience.
This achievement is the result of efforts led by Prof. Abdelbaki Cherifa, who submitted an outstanding scientific dossier that was approved by the UNESCO committee, enabling the university to obtain this prestigious chair.
