Golden Voice Competition in Tajweed at the University of Tlemcen

The University of Tlemcen hosted the Golden Voice Competition in Tajweed, an event designed to encourage students to memorize the Holy Quran and perfect their recitation according to the rules of Tajweed. This event took place on March 12, 2025, coinciding with the 12th of Ramadan, 1446 Hijri, at the Faculty of Letters and Languages, and was organized by the Agadir Literary Club.
The event began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. Several opening speeches were delivered by Pr. MEGHACHOU Mourad, Rector of the University of Tlemcen,Pr. HADJOUI Ghouti, Dean of the Faculty of Letters and Languages,Pr. BENSAID Abbassia, Vice-Dean in charge of Postgraduate,Pr. TAIBI Hora, Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature,Pr. HOUMANI Leyla, Supervisor of the Agadir Literary Club, all speakers emphasized the importance of the competition, highlighting its crucial role in promoting Islamic values and instilling these principles among students.
The competition began with a series of Quranic recitations by the students, performed in a spiritual and peaceful atmosphere. The participants were judged by a panel consisting Pr. ZOUBIR Ahmed Ibrahim and Pr. SALMI Ilyes
The judging criteria were based on the quality of the voice, the mastery of Tajweed rules, and the accuracy of the recitation. In addition to the recitations, the students also performed anashid (religious songs), which added a touch of solemnity and emotion to the competition.
The event attracted a large audience, mainly composed of students and faculty members. The audience was captivated by the beauty of the participants' recitations, as well as the outstanding performance of the religious chanting group, which delivered sublime performances.
 
At the conclusion of the competition, the winners were honored with valuable prizes and certificates of recognition for their exceptional performances. The event ended with warm applause from the audience, who expressed their admiration and encouragement for these young Quranic talents.
